Srinagar is a romantic Kashmiri city located amidst glistening lakes, snowy trees and forested mountain slopes. It is also referred as the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir State which is known throughout the world for its dazzling rivers, serene lakes, gorgeous gardens and ineffable beauty of Himalayan backdrop.

Srinagar is situated on both sides of the river Jhelum which makes it a picturesque and beautiful town that is visited by scores of tourists from several parts of the globe every year. Dal Lake:

It is the most popular attraction of this place which is known for its row upon row of colorful shikaras and house boats on the lake side. This lake is located half a km from the city which is often referred as the jewel of Kashmir. The picturesque beauty of this sparkling lake is magnified by the surrounding snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas. Nagin is the loveliest part of the Dal Lake, separated by a causeway which is known for its majestic beauty. Apart from the shikara and houseboat ride tourists can also enjoy water sports like and swimming, kayaking and canoing in this lake.

Mughal Gardens:

Chashmashahi (the royal spring), Shalimar (abode of love) and Nishat (abode of peace) together form the most famous Mughal Garden which is located on the outskirt of Srinagar. It is the place where Mughal emperors used to relax with their queens. All the lawns of the three gardens are known for their exotic collection of flowers and fruits bearing plants. This garden is known throughout the globe for its elegant construction and wide floral collection that attract scores of tourists every year.

Dachigam National Park:

It is a place abundant in natural beauty which is located 22 km north east from Srinagar. This park spreads over an area of 141 square kilometers, at an altitude ranging from 5500 ft to 14000 ft above mean sea level. It is the well known attraction of this place which is known for its rich and varied collection of flora and fauna. Dachigam National Park is the home of more than 20 species of mammals including Himalayan brown bears, Leopards and Hanguls and more than 150 bird species which include Black Bulbul, Golden Oriole, Golden Eagle and more.

Some of the other well known attractions of this place are Hazratbal Mosque, Ziarati Hazrati Youza Asouph, Shankaracharya Mandir, Pari Mahal and many more.
