Anantara Veli Maldives Resort  – Hotel Magazine

Following nine months of extensive renovations, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort is set to reopen on 1 December 2022, in time for the peak festive season. The adults-only resort, located 30 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport, will debut new-look accommodation, including a new top room category and revamped restaurants and spa, offering guests the ultimate island escape.

All villas feature a new design where heritage meets modernity with a natural palette of wood and stone, cool fabrics and rattan finishes and the latest in high-tech comforts.

A new room category, the 148-square-metre Beach Pool Villa, will soon be introduced as the island’s most luxurious accommodation option, with sliding glass doors that open onto a private pool and the beach and ocean just steps beyond. There are six Beach Pool Villas, each with a dedicated Villa Host.

The reopening of Anantara Veli will see the debut of a new wellness concept which allows guests to book a Wellness Villa experience. This personalised journey begins with villas enhanced with light, sound and scent therapy that changes the ambience from day to night, Ayurvedic spa amenities, an earthing mat for meditation, and a minibar stocked with herbal teas, healthy shakes, and wholefood snacks. All stays in a Wellness Villa include a complimentary wellness consultation upon arrival, daily fitness or yoga, a restorative cooking class, and 20 percent savings on treatments at the spa, Balance Wellness by Anantara.

Located at the island’s heart, Balance Wellness is a place of healing. Going beyond the traditional spa, wellness options range from Ayurveda treatments to the latest in epigenetics and IV therapy. The spa will also debut a brand new hammam, a type of steam bath. Multi-day wellness retreats are personalised in consultation with the resident naturopath, nutritionist, personal trainer, and yoga and lifestyle coach.
